Monochromatic snowscapes are one thing, but “Waterlogged moth” is a special kind of hell.

You are not wrong my friend. I am sure you get the same out there. People here are so desperate they are trolling flower shows. The struggle is rill. Stay strong!

I'm not saying I went to a home & garden show a couple of weeks ago, but I'm not /not/ saying it, either...

Your gossipy birds are absolutely delightful, Sheila, the language so shamefully, painfully authentic. If the photo was taken in the UK, I would say a rookery - a tree where a parliament of rooks congregate, but if in the US, then maybe a murder of common crows. Really caught my attention this dreary morning. The stark, misty trees are perfect prompts to any chilly or chilling story . Thank you!

Thanks so, so much Sharron! You are a dear! Let us go with "rookery" to sound a little more elevated, shall we? I love to see them congregated anywhere to be honest. Such delightful, chatty friends! :) Here's hoping we have some more color making its way back to New England soon!

Yes, but, alas, there are no rooks in New England or anywhere in the US. They are found in the UK and parts of Asia... Rooks are as gregarious and chatty as crows, comical, noisy, slightly smaller in size, and have white around the base of their beaks. https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Rook_(bird)

Yes! I knew they were a Euro and beyond bird, but I like the idea of "adopting" them here....the average citizen can't find Montana on a map, I think I could get them to believe we've rooks about! :)

HAAAAAAAA! I WISH I were cool enough to be Wednesday's friend! Same on the BW situation. I have always loved that style, which is incredibly difficult to do well. Instant moodiness--WIN! :)
