I love this Sheils, it was so funny! I loved my AP US History teacher in high school but if I had you perhaps I woulda scored a 5 instead of a 4, hee hee! The All in the Family reference was on point. Who knows, maybe Norman Lear got the idea for Archie and Edith's last name from the Battle of Bunker Hill?!
Ooh! I didn’t think of that…Battle of Archie Bunkaah Hill! It checks a lot of boxes! I like to put the STORY in “history.” And since we’re not-so-slowly eroding book larn’n, I think my version could hold up :) X!
A day when " when ordinary people came together in an extraordinary way. There were no guarantees, only the belief that they had to at least try to stand up to power and stand up for themselves." Amen to that, Sheila. It has been done, and can be done again. I know it.
Your account is hilarious, my friend, as usual, but we were all waiting for your conclusion. You are so right. And that flag photo, well, it brought me to tears. It is the flag of the true American spirit, not the flag that flies from the back of a pick up truck in Texas.
Thanks Sharron. I’m always grateful for your energy. Just like back then: no guarantees, but we must link arms and move forward together. For me, the flag is always a symbol (always) of the imperfect nature of the union. Onward! X!
History is HILARIOUS, right? :) Yes—all the reenactments and commemorations that happen every year are pretty moving. Even the walking tours in town and out in places like Concord, Lexington, around Salem, MA are powerful in their own way :) Thanks my friend!

P.S. Right there with ya for the Ken Burns doc 🍿

This was amazing on all levels!
Awww! Thanks, pal! All joking aside, the history around this area is really moving and we never get tired of shoving it in peoples’ faces! :)
I’m from Philly so I get it 🤣

Love the anachronisms. Very funny. Good thing Revere didn’t have to pass thru a toll booth. Hehe.
Hubby and I once went to a reenactment in Concord. It was actually quite emotional.

Next year we will be there!
YES! I’ll save you a spot!
"Sorry, Arch...I mean, George!"
You get it. :)
