I had convinced myself that wasn't Celine Dion up there, and was stunned to find out that it most definitely was. This Olympics seemed to have it all, from the turkish shooting guy to Raygun to a Badminton battle so intense we almost missed meeting an arriving flight (we were watching in the breakroom...allegedly). Mostly, I was surprised at how supportive the athletes were of each other, even when they were clearly battling to win.

YES! Thanks for mentioning that as well. It felt like a lot of the hyped up rivalry kind of bullshit from previous games wasn’t really in play or at least in focus. The athletes seemed to have a lot of empathy for one another. In the end the Olympic career is tragically short, right? Why waste it with the petty garbage and instead just give it your all? L.A. has some big, fancy French shoes to fill

I cried over the Pina Colada song in the part where he finds out that the personal ad writer is his own wife/ girlfriend. I blame menopause 🤣

I'm not a big cryer, but I am always in awe of athletes and enjoy watching them do their thing. How cool to be that proficient in something, and then get to show the world!

I know, right? I hope they find some space somewhere to reflect on their accomplishments and be able to feel the gravity of what they bring.

Fellow snorfler here Sheils and I too was very touched and enthralled by the great Celine Dion! Although I am not glad the Olympics are over cuz I am already going through withdrawal 😭 I'm so into them and can't wait for LA28. Both my home states CA and CO did great (as well as my motherland 🇵🇭) and I discovered that sport climbing is very compelling to watch!

Seriously. The games were next level water works. Maybe because I felt like we got to see and hear more about the athletes’ journey to compete..I don’t know, but even stone cold sharpshooting made me all soggy in the ocular regions. Hurry up winter games!!! 😉

Thanks Diana! Pass the tissues or bedsheet..whatever the moment calls for :) I think the more we can open up those heart/energy channels and let it all in, the better our own art..yes? Worth the salt depletion…:) Thanks for reading!

I've always been this way... back when going to the movies was a thing we all did, I was always the person to leave the theater with a swollen nose and puffy eyes, red and totally embarrassed. My acupuncturist says that in Chinese medicine, tears are good, not to be repressed - let em flow!

I love that from your acupuncturist! And I agree. In writing this little thing I was also thinking that I feel lucky to be able to feel so deeply about so much--what a gift to be human and to revel in the extraordinary things that other humans can do. I am optimistic that we are starting to see a turn back toward that kind of appreciation for humanity...fingers crossed and stock in Kleenex products purchased!! :)
